Android application "Anti-collector" is designed to block incoming calls from various agencies to collect debts (collectors), as well as advertising call centers, telephone scams, etc.
The application contains a built-in database of telephone numbers (black list), which is updated periodically with Internet access in the user's smartphone.
For the application to work, the presence of a permanent Internet connection is not required, the application will be able to work as long as necessary in the offline mode, blocking unwanted calls.
The user can always add a new number to the black list independently, regardless of the presence or absence of an Internet connection.
"Anti-collector" is a free application and does not require the purchase of licenses, subscriptions and regular payments for installation and use.
- for users of the Russian Federation and Ukraine (the database contains numbers of both Russian and Ukrainian collectors)
- automatic updating of collection agency database
- does not require registration, does not collect personal data of users
- does not require root privileges
The author of the application does not urge users to avoid paying their debts and believes that loans and credits must be returned to creditors.
At the same time, the current situation in the field of collection business is such that many debt collectors often use very dirty methods and methods of psychological pressure on borrowers in their activities: threats, intimidation, blackmail, etc.
Often databases of borrowers with bad debts for years wander from one collection office to another, while the relevance of information in these databases is constantly decreasing, the data are hopelessly obsolete and the borrower's telephone number may be changed by several owners in a couple of years.
And collectors continue to call already completely different people and demand from them payment of the debt of the original owner of the number :)
Also, it is not uncommon for personal data on borrowers to fall into the hands of scammers who call and are represented by bank employees, demanding to transfer money ostensibly to repay the debt to their personal accounts, which have nothing to do with the bank.
The author of the application believes that every citizen has the right to decide whether to communicate by phone with strangers or not, and to use any legal technical and software tools to block unwanted calls.
